It looks like men of the cloth are also feeling the pinch of the high cost of living this is after Apostle James Maina Ng'ang'a openly condemned the government for "overburdening Kenyans with tax hikes."

Ng'ang'a, a controversial preacher, spoke during a live church service on Thursday at the Neno Evangelism headquarters in Nairobi.

During his sermon, the outspoken preacher chastised the government, claiming that it was his responsibility as a Man of God to speak truth to power and challenging the authorities to close down his church if they desired.

"Sometimes you are misleading this nation. Naongea kama mtume. Uchumi ni mbaya na mnatumia hizo pesa vile mnataka. Mnapandisha uchumi huku, mnaongezea pesa huku, na mtu akiwaambia mnafunga kanisa. Si mkuje mfunge hii yangu! Kujeni mfunge! Stupid!" the displeased apostle said.

"Na nikihubiri nitaongea na nitasema what is right. I will speak what is right. I swear before God. Some of you guys are misleading this nation, na chuma kiko jikoni, chuma kiko jioni!" he added

The apostle also warned the Kenya Kwanza leadership that God would bring them down if they remained on their current path.

"Naongea kama mtume," he says. He warned, "Huyu Mungu mnacheza na yeye atawatoa kwa jiko."

Shortly after the video went viral, Kenyans on X (previously Twitter) praised the pastor, swiftly turning his words into a meme field, with some even uploading proposed t-shirt designs as if to rubber stamp the message.

Kenyans went on a creative frenzy, turning Ng'ang'a's outburst into a piece of entertainment led by political analyst and social commentator Gabriel Oguda.

"That Pastor Nganga rant is epic. Bwana who can design a t-shirt with Pastor Nganga on the front with the quote, "Si Mfunge, Stupid!" Itaweza sana.!" Oguda tweeted.
