Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria urged the Mount Kenya area to slow down on the motions to impeach their governors.

The trade CS took to his X page, formerly known as Twitter, telling the people of mouth kenya to be united for growth and prosperity.

This comes at a time when meru governor  Kawira Mwangaza is engaged in a survival battle with the MCAs as they are trying to file a second motion to impeach her.

He asked Meru inhabitants to defer to other regions the ambitious intention of impeaching their governor and allow Mwangaza to entrench prosperity and development for posterity.

"In the last term, Kiambu County from Mt Kenya region made history by becoming the first county to successfully impeach a Governor. In this term Meru County in the Mt. Kenya region is determined to become the first county to successfully impeach the governor," he wrote.

"Unless impeachment has something to do with the soils, altitude, or climatic conditions, it is necessary for the Mt. Kenya region to give other regions an opportunity to impeach their governors in the spirit of inclusivity, diversity, and national cohesion. My two cents." he added.

She escaped the first impeachment attempt in December 2022, when the 11-member Senate Special Committee assigned to investigate the grounds for her impeachment concluded that none of the claims leveled against her by the Meru MCAs were proven.

The MCAs leveled 62 complaints against Mwangaza. However, she was not impeached.
