Police officers in Downtown Mau Narok, Njoro Constituency, Nakuru County, have launched an investigation after the lifeless body of a man was found dumped by the roadside.
Esther Wambui, a Downtown resident, confirmed the victim's identity as her husband.
"The man who has been murdered is my husband." He was killed at 1 a.m., and I hurried to tell others what was happening." she said
According to witnesses, the victim had multiple stab wounds, raising the possibility that he was the victim of a mugging or a gang-related attack.
"We woke up in the morning to find the man dead," one resident said. We are unable to grasp or explain this calamity. His corpse was splattered with blood." noted the witness.
Residents in Mau Narok voiced alarm about the growing insecurity in the area, claiming this as the second stabbing-related incident in a week.
"This incident has left us deeply concerned," another resident added, "because such stabbing cases are becoming more common in our region." We urge our officers to address this matter as soon as possible."
Residents also remembered another man fighting for his life at Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital less than a week after being stabbed in the same Mau Narok region.
