A police officer was arrested in Ruiru after robbing an Mpesa shop and attempting to hide inside an Equity bank after being chased by members of the public.
Ruiru police head Alex Shikondi noted that The offender, who was equipped with a firearm, robbed an M-Pesa shop client of Ksh.54,000 before an alert was triggered.

Responding to M-Pesa operator distress calls, members of the public pursued the suspected robber, who drew his gun and shot in the air before attempting to force his way inside the Equity Bank, where he was apprehended. Police did not immediately reveal the officer's identity.
