While delivering the sentence, Justice Reuben Nyakundi called the accused's murder of Emmah Wanyota wicked and terrible.

Idd is charged with the murder of the former Eldoret-based Vera beauty college student on September 30, 2019, at her parent's home in Moi's Bridge, Uasin Gishu County.

When the deceased mother burst into tears as the judge was giving the punishment against the defendant, the judge's assistant had to calm her down.

Justice Nyakundi highlighted how the offender tortured the victim before brutally murdering her on that terrible day.

After the killed college girl rejected his sexual advances, the felon is reported to have beaten her with a blunt weapon on the head, raped her, then chopped off her legs.

During her evidence in court, the late Emmah's mother described leaving her daughter in the house and returning to find her living room in shambles and covered in blood.

She stated that her late daughter had only stayed one month to finish her college education.

According to the killed student's twin sister, the man was the deceased's ex-boyfriend and a well-known carpenter in Moi's Bridge Town.
