Police in Kisii county are investigating an incident where the body of a head teacher who had gone missing was found in a borehole in his compound.
According to police, Raphael Atemba reported to Rikenye Primary School on Thursday, but his wife said he failed to return home in the evening.
This prompted her to raise an alarm among close family members and neighbors to help search for him in the morning hours of Friday.
The teacher’s mutilated body was finally found inside a borehole within his compound in Nyakamba village.
Police retrieved the body as investigations were launched to find the cause of death and possible perpetrators.
