Detectives in Kakamega are investigating an incident in which a rape suspect was discovered dead in the Marete Police Station cells.
The body of the 34-year-old suspect was discovered dangling from the roof of the police cells, according to Kakamega Police Commander Joseph Kigen.
He told the media that the deceased's body had been transferred to the Kakamega County General Teaching & Referral Hospital for an autopsy.
"Investigations are ongoing; we have had experts from the regional headquarters ambao wameenda kuchunguza which kisa cha mahabusu kujinyonga katika station," the police commander told the media.
