In a Kisumu court, a man was charged with impersonating Supreme Court Judge Justice William Ouko and defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.

When Leakey Oduor appeared before Kisumu Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti, he denied the impersonation charge and was released on a Ksh.500,000 bond or a Ksh. 250,000 cash bail.

Oduor was arrested in Migori County on December 8, 2023, and appeared before a Kiambu court on December 11 before being directed to take a plea in Kisumu, where most of the alleged crimes are said to have occurred.

According to police investigations, the suspect has residences in Nairobi, Kakamega, and Migori counties, where he is suspected of conducting fraudulent activities.

The suspect is accused of using Justice William Ouko's identity fraudulently to solicit and receive money to secure his victims' employment in various institutions.

Ogoti ordered that the case be heard on January 8, 2024.
