Police officers on Saturday morning intercepted over 90 cartons of illicit liquor in a targeted operation, raiding a residence in Kamukunji estate in Soy, Uasin Gishu County.

The operation carried out in the outskirts of Eldoret Town, they recovered cartons of Kingdom Vodka and Signature alcohol, both explicitly prohibited within Kenya.

Soy Sub-county Police Commander Henry Zuma, says a notorious trader deeply entangled in the unlawful importation of second-generation alcohol, has been apprehended and will be charged in court.

Zuma underscored the severity of the situation, cautioning residents against taking illicit beverages, especially during this festive season.

He said the confiscated items are dangerous to people's lives, emphasizing a commitment to public safety, urging the public to actively participate in maintaining security by promptly reporting any suspicious activities.
