Detectives are urgently working to uncover the identity of a woman whose body, mutilated and concealed in a paper bag, was discovered off Thika Road in Nairobi. The 24-year-old victim's murderer is being sought, and the investigation has revealed that the perpetrator utilized counterfeit documents and a mobile number registered in a woman's name to secure the room.

Despite obtaining limited images from CCTV cameras in the vicinity, the police are grappling with a lack of substantial leads as they intensify efforts to apprehend the suspect.

The reason behind the murder is still unknown, shrouded in mystery.

“He seemed to have acted in rage and we fear he might kill more,” an officer in the probe team said.

The team is striving to make the captured images of the man public to aid in his identification.

The woman, still unidentified, had her fingerprints taken by the police for analysis as part of the ongoing efforts to establish her identity.

The tragic incident unfolded in an apartment along TRM Drive, Thika Road, where the woman was stabbed and fatally chopped to death.

On Saturday, the man had reserved the room and entered with the woman.

On Sunday morning, he departed alone, as confirmed by the apartment caretaker, who mentioned that he returned the key to the receptionist.

Upon inspecting the residence, the caretaker observed blood traces that guided him to the specific room.

Following the trail of bloodstains, he arrived at a dustbin collection point where, along with other neighbors, they uncovered the dismembered remains of an individual. Alarmed by the discovery, the caretaker promptly contacted the police. The victim's body had been dismembered and placed in a polythene bag.

A man renting the one-room residence above a supermarket was seen on CCTV footage of the incident wearing black pants, a black jumper, a navy blue shirt, specks, and a white cap.

Adamson Bungei, the head of Nairobi police, stated that they are searching for the murder suspect.

He said that the on-site attendant is assisting the police with their investigation.

“The owners of the premises need to be keen when handling those booking rooms. We are pursuing leads that may help us,” he said.

Police moved the remains to the Nairobi City Morgue awaiting autopsy and identification.
