A 47-year-old man died on Sunday while receiving treatment after he was cut by a machete during a suspected land tussle in Miambani in Kitui County .
Confirming the incident, Mung’ang’a chief Muthoka Kilonzo, said the man was being treated at the Kitui Level 4 Hospital, where he was rushed by his family members.
“He cried for help but by the time his family arrived at the house, he had been attacked and the perpetrators fled,” he said.
Three suspects were arrested as investigations into the circumstances of the attack got underway.
"We suspected the attack is linked to a land tussle but we are investigating and urge members of the community to help us with any information they might have," Kilonzo added.
