Residents in Eregi village in Ikolomani, Kakamega County, are mourning the death of two brothers who were killed following a fight about ownership of family trees.
The two brothers attended a family meeting called by the area Assistant Chief to resolve a standoff over the trees when things became chaotic. An argument erupted, resulting in a brawl.
Gunshots were fired in an attempt to stop the developing brawl as the brothers armed themselves with machetes and lunged for each other's throats.
