An angry mob killed three suspected cattle thieves and injured several others following an operation at Okanda village in Bondo on Monday night.
According to police, three of the suspects, David Haya (butcher), Paul Otieno Wauda, and Walori Oyato died, and several others were injured.
Area Assistant Chief Dennis Ojwang confirmed the incident, saying the angry mob conducted the operation after a Monday incident that left several livestock stolen in the region.
Speaking on Ramogi Radio, he said the suspected thieves were smoked out of their hideouts one after the other and lynched.
Further, the administrator stated that those who were left with injuries are currently undergoing treatment at Bondo sub-county hospital.

At the same time, the three bodies were moved to the mortuary at the same facility.
Additionally, he urged the public against taking the law into their hands, noting that they should always ensure they hand over any suspect to the police instead of resorting to lynching.
