Ruiru Law Court has charged John Matara, the suspect accused of killing socialite Starlet Wahu with rape and robbery with violence.
Appearing before Magistrate Charles Mwaniki, John Matara was accused of committing the offenses on May 16, 2023.
The charge sheet shows that while armed with a kitchen knife, he robbed his victim of Ks 88,300.
It is alleged that the total resulted from the robbery of Kes 18,300 from M-pesa, Kes 30,000 cash, a phone valued at Kes 25,000, and another worth Kes 15,000.
Further, he is also accused of taking her ID, international passport, and family bank ATM card.

The lifeless body of Starlet Wahu was discovered at an apartment in South B area of Nairobi in January 2024.
