Authorities in Nyeri have taken into custody a well-known suspect in violent robberies.
After worried residents alerted the police to Peter Ndiritu Ndirangu, alias Kimaitho, 35, he was taken into custody following a search that drove him out of his hiding place in the Weitemere area.
For violent robberies, peddling, muggings, and phone snatching, Kimaitho is a wanted person.
The suspect, who had been imprisoned for several years, was discovered to have twelve heroin sachets, nine rolls of bhang, a machete, and two kitchen knives tucked in his waist during a search.

The well-known but elusive suspect has been linked to multiple attacks at the Weitemere, Majengo, Kiawara, and Blue Valley regions of Nyeri since his release from prison in December 2023.
Because of his criminal history, the ex-convict has been placed under remand at King'ong'o prison without the possibility of bond.
