Police officers in Bomet are investigating the brutal murder of a 70-year-old man who was discovered in his home with significant wounds on his neck and shoulder.
Area residents believe the man, a father of seven, was brutally murdered by one of his kids over a land dispute.
According to village elder Robert Mutai, the dead returned to his own house in Bomet after spending some time in Narok County, which irritated one of his sons.
"Following the murder, his son, who is the prime suspect, didn't open his shop as usual and also didn't come to his father's residence despite villagers raising alarm over the heinous act. We restrained an irate mob who wanted to go and break into his shop in the nearest kipisarwet trading center " Mutai said.
