Police officers have arrested a 60-year-old man who had gone into hiding after defiling and impregnating a student from Kyaani High School in Kibwezi, Makueni County.
According to police, the suspect, who had been sponsoring the minor’s education expenses had been hiding since January after he took the minor through a failed abortion procedure.
After the case was reported in the media, he went into hiding until he was arrested on Saturday night in the Tassia area of Nairobi.
Confirming the incident, Kibwezi police commander Joram Maina said the man is in custody, awaiting arraignment on Monday.
“We arrested him and immediately brought him back to Kibwezi. You can try hiding but in the end you will be caught and will have to pay for your sins,” Maina said.
