An official from the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has died after being run over by a runaway vehicle near Chaka on the Nyeri-Nanyuki route.
Traffic commandant Mary Omari said the accident happened when the motorist refused to stop despite being hailed down by traffic and KeNHA police, who had installed a makeshift weighbridge in the area.
The car is claimed to have driven past the scene, running over the two cops.
