Police officers have arrested a man in connection to the stabbing of an M-Pesa shop operator and a boda boda rider during a robbery attempt in Kericho.
Witnesses say the armed robber disguised as a client approached one of the M-Pesa stores outside Shivling Supermarket in Kericho town and attempted to steal the agent's money.
The assailant, who was suspected of being responsible for the recent series of M-Pesa agent attacks in the town, stabbed the agent in the hand before attempting to steal a purse that the attendant was carrying after a long day at work.

A struggle occurred as the agent held to her bag, causing an alarm to sound, drawing the attention of adjacent public members, including boda boda operators.
Responding quickly, the operators chased the suspect. One managed to catch up, but as he tried to detain the attacker, the assailant grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the hands.
The scenario worsened when other boda boda riders joined in and pounced on the criminal, hitting him with different objects.
Police officers patrolling the vicinity heard the noise and went to the scene. The thief was arrested and is currently being held at Kericho Police Station.
