A man who repeatedly defiled his stepdaughter at their Timau Buuri, Meru County, home has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by a Nanyuki court.
The man had been defiling the minor for more than a year, and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) claims that he had threatened to kill her if she ever reported the abuse.
“During the trial, the court heard that between March 2020 and May 2021, in Timau Buuri, West of Meru County, the accused, who is the stepfather to the victim, repeatedly defiled her and threatened her with death if she reported the abuse,” stated the ODPP.
The offender was sentenced to the specified prison term when they appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Ben Mararo of Nanyuki Law Courts. This was done after the prosecution established its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
