A Middle-aged man has been detained in homabay after surrendering to police after killing his estranged wife in a fight over the custody of their child.
The 40-year-old man is said to have killed Winnie Auma, 30, in Mwirend village, Kaksingri West location, Suba sub-county, before turning himself into police.
According to the family, the couple experienced marital disputes for more than three years before splitting up.

Auma married another man roughly 15 km away in the nearby Gwassi North Ward. After the couple divorced, the lady returned to her former husband's house and grabbed two children, leaving three behind.
Later, she petitioned the Suba sub-county children's officer for custody of the three children.
On Wednesday, Auma visited the suspect's home and saw him weeding on his farm with the children. She demanded to take the children, resulting in a heated altercation.
The suspect reportedly hacked the victim with a machete before surrendering to the Gingo Police Station.
The suspect is being detained at Magunga police station and is awaiting a court date. The body of the deceased was sent to Sindo Sub-county Hospital Mortuary.
