A 24-year-old man has been rescued from an attack by an angry mob after he allegedly murdered a 40-year-old lady in Mwingi West, Kitui County.
Confirming the incident, Kyethani Location Chief Mwikali Musili stated that the suspect, Mbuvi, admitted to killing the wife following an argument.
“The suspect says that he lived with the woman, they were couples. Recently another man from Garissa came, and the wrangles began,” Mwikali said.

The Chief also stated that the man who killed the woman by beating him with a wood is not well known in the community. Only known as Mbuvi, the man worked for the late Serah and had a love relationship with her.
Serah’s brother, Daniel Mbuvi, said a neighbor called him, informing him of the murder incident.

“I don’t know where Mbuvi hails from, but he has been staying here for some time. On Saturday we had an event here and he said someone in this homestead will die before the week ended,” said Daniel Mbuvi.
The deceased's body has been taken to Mwingi's level 4 hospital mortuary, and the suspect is being treated there as well.
