The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested two suspected traffickers in Malindi, who were in possession of Kes .12 million bhang weighing over 429kg.
DCI says its Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) officers responded to a tip-off that a truck driven by Joseph Nzomo, 28, and his conductor, Auress Godfrey, 27, was to be used as the transportation vessel of the contraband.
"The officers swiftly followed leads to the truck, ambushing the unsuspecting duo at an open field while flexing muscles in readiness to load seven sacks of the prohibited herb.”
The suspects were escorted to Mariakani Police Station, where the truck was also impounded.
