A 65-year-old grandmother from Masamba village spent the night in the Ndori police cells in the Rarieda sub-county after being caught for possessing chang'aa and bhang.
Mary Atieno Obiero was detained with 28 liters of chang'aa and 83 rolls of bhang amid a security raid on illegal brews and narcotics in the region.
The incident was confirmed by Siaya County Police Commander, Mr. Cleti Kimaiyo.
Officers searched her home after receiving a tip and discovered the forbidden narcotics, which led to her detention.
She was then taken into jail for her arraignment at Madiany Law Courts.
