Police officers in Bondo have arrested 12 people for attempting to attack a police station during Thursday's anti-government protests.
According to Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo, teenagers began assembling in Bondo town at noon and attempted to obstruct the routes.
Mr. Kimaiyo stated that at about 2 p.m., a few protestors attacked the station repeatedly by pelting it with stones.

He added that this inspired him to lead an increased anti-riot force, which successfully drove the violent demonstrators out of town.
Mr. Kimaiyo stated they could apprehend the 12 criminals hitting the station with stones.
The county police chief further stated that the anti-riot squad stayed watchful and worked to quiet the town and clear it of tiny pockets of violent protestors until 9.30 p.m. when the operation was called off.
He stated that no injuries were recorded from either camp and that the teenagers would be charged in court on Friday.
