Mathe Wa Ngara, along with David Ochieng Okoth and Christopher Odipo Ochieng, faced charges on Monday for allegedly trafficking 189,300 grams of cannabis, with a street value of over Ksh.5.6 million.
The trio pled not guilty in court.
In addition to the drug trafficking charge, they also face accusations of conspiring to traffic narcotics. According to allegations, the incident occurred on August 9 at Georgina Apartments in the Mastore area along Juja Farm Road in Kiambu County.

The prosecution opposed their release on bail, citing concerns about their potential flight risk and lack of a fixed address. The court also heard that Mathe Wa Ngara had previously been involved in a similar offense.
However, Mathe wa Ngara's lawyer, Danstan Omari, argued that the offense is bailable and that she does not pose a flight risk. The court instructed the probation department to prepare a report, with the next hearing scheduled for August 19, 2024, when the report will be reviewed.
