Police officers have launched an investigation into the brutal death of the Rarieda area assistant chief, Moses Mbeda.
Mbeda died about 1 a.m. when unknown intruders assaulted and hacked him at his residence.
According to Siaya Police Commander Serah Koki, the administrator was attacked and severely slashed on the neck while going to a lavatory in his residence.
The police chief stated that the assistant director was immediately sent to the adjacent Lwak Mission hospital, where he was pronounced dead as a result of his severe injuries.
“Police and officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have launched investigations to establish the murderers and apprehend the assailants,” Koki said.
Mbeda's body remains in the mortuary at Lwak Mission Hospital, pending a postmortem examination.
