The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is offering cash rewards for information leading to the arrest of suspected serial killer Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, who escaped police custody two months ago.

Jumaisi is the prime suspect in the tragic Kware massacre where 42 women were killed, has evaded police capture after escaping from Gigiri Police Station.

Jumaisi and 12 other detainees broke free on August 20, 2024, by cutting through a wire mesh at the station’s basking bay. Despite a 69-day nationwide manhunt, his whereabouts remain unknown.

 The exact reward amount has not been disclosed by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and the information can be shared anonymously through the #FichuaKwaDCI hotline at 0800722203.

Additionally, people can contact the police via emergency numbers 999, 911, or 112 or visit any police station within the country. "Every detail matters. Your cooperation could be crucial in apprehending this wanted suspect," stated the DCI's announcement.

Jumaisi allegedly confessed to the murders, including that of his wife, after authorities discovered the victims' remains at the Kware dumpsite in early August.

However, his lawyer, John Maina Ndegwa, argued that his client was coerced under duress, calling the confession a result of mistreatment by detectives.

"My client endured severe inhumane treatment, forcing him to admit to crimes foreign to him.I urge the court to provide him with urgent medical attention as investigations proceed," Ndegwa stated.
