Authorities in Mombasa are investigating a mob attack that left two men critically injured in Bombolulu, Nyali constituency.

The victims, identified as Issa Swaleh and Bilal Hamza, were accused of being part of a motorcycle gang involved in snatching mobile phones from the public.

An angry crowd apprehended the duo and subjected them to a violent beating. Reports indicate that the mob intended to set them on fire before police intervened, rescuing the pair.

Swaleh and Hamza were transported to the Coast General Hospital for emergency treatment, where they remain in critical condition. The mob, however, managed to destroy their motorcycle, torching it at the scene.

Nyali police have confirmed the severity of the injuries and are urging the public to refrain from taking justice into their own hands. They encourage community members to report criminal activity to law enforcement for proper legal action.
