Alex Kimaiyo Kiprono and Emmanuel Kipkoech Rotich appeared at the Milimani Law Courts on Friday to face charges related to computer fraud and unauthorized access to banking systems.
The duo is accused of hacking into bank accounts and conducting illegal withdrawals. In a significant case highlighted in court, they allegedly infiltrated the security system of a local bank, transferring over Ksh.1.8 million from a joint account.
The court, upon the investigators' request, granted Rotich a five-day detention to allow further inquiries into the matter.
Conversely, Kiprono was granted a bond, set at Ksh.1 million, with an alternative cash bail option of Ksh.650,000.
