A family in Kirima village, Ngaru location, Kirinyaga County, is reeling from the tragic and mysterious death of their 26-year-old daughter, believed to have been murdered by her boyfriend. Lisper Ng'endo’s body was discovered in Kajiado, four days after she traveled to Nairobi to visit her boyfriend, as reported by her father, James Munene.
The heartbreaking news was first shared with the family by Munene’s sister-in-law, Rose Njeri, who lives in Nairobi. Ng'endo’s sister, Caroline Wandia, recalled that on Saturday, February 1, 2025, Lisper left the Kerugoya matatu stage at around 4 p.m. after receiving a call from her boyfriend. "I stayed in contact with her until she arrived at his place around 8 p.m. That was the last time we spoke—after that, her phone went off," said Wandia.
The family is left struggling to comprehend why Lisper, who had been in a relationship with her boyfriend for over six years, was killed by someone she trusted. "He had visited our home in Kirima several times, and my sister had even gone to visit his family in Kericho. We were looking forward to their marriage," Wandia said with sadness. "She had a shop here at home. Why would he do this to her?"

According to Munene, the boyfriend allegedly confessed to killing Lisper and dumping her body in Kajiado during a conversation with his sister-in-law on Wednesday, February 5. "I couldn’t believe it when I saw my daughter’s body at the city mortuary, covered in severe injuries. I want him arrested—he fled after telling my sister-in-law about the murder," Munene stated.
The family also revealed that the boyfriend had falsely claimed to be a senior officer with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Nairobi, only for them to later discover that he actually worked as a farmhand in Kajiado. "We always believed he was a DCI officer. On Monday, he told us he had traveled to America, yet my sister didn’t even have a passport. Then, out of nowhere, he confessed to killing her and disappeared. We want justice," said Wandia.
As the family prepares for Lisper Ng'endo’s funeral in Kirima village, they are left with grief and many unanswered questions. "She went to Nairobi because she loved him—why did he turn against her?" asked neighbors Elias Muriuki and Irene Nyawira, who had come to offer their condolences.
