A 26-year-old man has been apprehended in Mombasa for allegedly distributing child sexual abuse material through his Gmail account. The arrest was made by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) following a tip-off from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The suspect, identified as Ramadhan Yahya Hussein, was nabbed in the Majengo area. According to the DCI, Hussein was involved in circulating explicit content involving minors and trading in Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM).
After his arrest, Hussein reportedly led investigators to his residence in Likoni Maweni village, where two mobile phones, a memory card, and several identification documents were seized. The items are currently undergoing forensic examination to gather additional evidence.
