In a heartbreaking incident in Kakdhimu area, Rachuonyo, Homa Bay County, a police officer based in Marsabit County is reported to have taken his own life after allegedly poisoning three children, two of his own and one belonging to his brother-in-law.
After committing the act, the officer reportedly hanged himself inside his house. Authorities are currently investigating the disturbing event to uncover the motive behind the tragedy.
Meanwhile, in Malava Constituency, Kakamega County, police have launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a 22-year-old man whose body was discovered hanging in his room at Soi village, Ikoli sub-location.
According to the area assistant chief, Lawrence Kabula, the deceased, identified as Evans Simeon, is suspected to have died by suicide following a domestic dispute with his mother over sugarcane proceeds. It is alleged that the disagreement arose after his mother harvested and sold sugarcane to a nearby milling factory without his consent.
The body has been moved to Kakamega County Referral Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination as investigations continue.
