Police have started looking for a guy suspected of stabbing a Nairobi woman he had met online and lured her to see him in Maua, Meru County.

The victim, Sylvia, is claimed to have been invited by the culprit, who DCI identifies as Patoo, to a party in Meru County, where he asked her to go with her female companion.

Sylvia and Jackie boarded a matatu to Meru County on Tuesday night, dressed sharply for a night of revelry, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).

According to the DCI, "Sylvia and her best friend Jackie boarded a shuttle destined for Meru along Accra road at 6 p.m. Tuesday and started out for the 4-hour journey grinning and overflowing with joy."

On the trip, Patoo called the unprepared Sylvia and informed her that the party's location was different from what he had communicated earlier and that they should expect to board another matatu to Maua once they got off the bus at the bus terminal.

The DCI stated that the two maintained optimism and followed Patoo's instructions.

The two arrived at their destination to find Patoo enthusiastically waiting for them. He immediately apologized for the last-minute change of plans and the difficulty it had caused before directing them down a dark street that he claimed would lead to the event.

"After admonishing them passionately for the abrupt change in the party's location, Patoo led them along a dark trail that he claimed would lead to their final meeting place ", Read the declaration.

The women, who the DCI claimed were now beginning to doubt the man, opposed his call, causing a fight as the two fled.

Patoo then secretly took out a knife, stabbed Sylvia in the shoulder, and fled from them.

"But as they fled toward the main road, the city girls began screaming because they had never known such darkness. Patoo lunged for a knife as soon as he could and stabbed Sylvia in the shoulder before running into the shadows, according to the DCI.

She was transported to the Muthara hospital and later moved by a bystander to the Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital, where she is now recovering.

"Sylvia was rescued by a good neighbor who was returning home on foot and was sent to Muthara hospital for treatment. Thereafter, for specialized care, she was transported to Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital "remarked the DCI.

According to the police, Patoo is currently the target of a pursuit.
