Police in kirinyaga are on the hunt for a man who is accused of killing his wife and burying her under their bed.

Mwea-west Sub-county Deputy Police Commander Sammy Beauttah confirmed the incident that happened in Mwea East and said that the body of the deceased  Joyce Nginya, 44 was discovered while the incident happened on Sunday.


"The matter was reported by the family members at Kiamaciri police station and after visiting the house we found the victim's body... Joyce Nginya was buried in a shallow grave and that was when we started the process of exhuming the body after a court order from Baricho law court," said the police boss.

"I was called today morning by my sister's children who told me that their mother was missing and I was shocked to see her body buried in a shallow grave under her bed and that's when I informed the police officers," Jane said.

Jane Njeru, the deceased sister said that her sister has been selling miraa at the Thiba shopping centre for a while before she went missing on Sunday.

"I don't know the man, I only know the former husband whom they separated in 2011 and he is also here," Jane added.

The man and his wife, Monica Adhiambo, divorced three years ago due to family feuds.

He is then accused of exhuming the body of his sister-in-law Joan Apondi, who was buried on his property and left at Adhiambo's door.

Adhiambo, who lives in Suna East Sub County and rents a house at Kakaro Trading Center, told Ramogi FM on Thursday that she was inside when the suspect dumped the body parts in a sack in front of her house.
