The conversation surrounding the investigation of Jeff Mwathi's death, who was just 23, has changed. Jeff's girlfriend finally details the events that occurred after Jeff's death.
In an interview with Kururia TV, Jeff's girlfriend Faith Wairimu denied allegations that he was suicidal. Faith said Jeff was happy and had never attempted suicide before.
Faith claimed she kept in touch with her boyfriend as he enjoyed himself with DJ Faxto and his friends. In addition to sending him pictures and videos of each location they visited that evening, he kept her up to date on everything.

The next morning, she received a call from Mutanu, a friend she claimed was one of the women who had spent the night with Jeff, inquiring if he had made it home safely.
Mutanu heard Faith's concerns. Her phone calls to Jeff were ineffective and Jeff hadn't returned home. Mutanu pledged to contact DJ Faxto to find out where he was.
Faith continued by saying that Mutanu later contacted and inquired about Jeff's friendship with Kikuyu singer Samidoh. She declared Samidoh to be his uncle. At that point, Mutanu mentioned that Jeff had caused a fight at night while boasting about Samidoh's nephew.
Jeff, according to Wairimu, rarely brings up Samidoh in conversation unless prompted. She claimed that if they had insulted the singer, that was the only way he could have done that. She learned that Jeff had been reported missing at that point.
She called DJ Faxtos after finding his number. Faith claimed that he treated her rudely when he told her to wait until the police called to inform her of the details of what had happened. They discovered he had passed away at that point.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kinduki has instructed the DCI to take up Jeff Mwathi's case and commence the investigation.
With Kenyans adopting the hashtag #Justice for Jeff online, the issue has gained a lot of attention. According to a police complaint, Jeff was suicidal and leapt from DJ Fatxo's apartment on the 10th floor.
Yesterday, Dj Fatxo expressed his willingness to work with the investigative authorities to ensure that Jeff receives justice through his attorney.
The singer's lawyer also stated that the musician had not declined any law enforcement summons to participate in the investigations.
According to reports from Kikuyu blogger Martha Mwihaki Hinga, there is an underhanded power play to protect the musician from being charged with Jeff's killing because of his connections.
