Police officers in Kakamega county are investigating a case where a woman who had been missing was found buried in a shallow grave at her neighbour's compound.
Fabian Muteshi discovered the body of the deceased in his compound. Fabian, who stays in kitengela, travelled to the village with his family and was building a new house there. He was harvesting soil to construct his new house when he dug up a human skull and bones.
Mr muteshi was shocked to discover the bones and immediately informed the neighbours and the police. "I was harvesting mud-soil for my new house which I am building, when I found the human skull with other body parts. I have never been so scared," he said.
The deceased's body was identified as that of Rosa Kamoya, a 37-year-old woman who had been missing for some time. Her father, mzee Paul Lisiolo confirmed that the deceased was indeed her daughter.

"My daughter disappeared last year, while in the company of her two sisters in Shibuname, a nearby village, we have been looking for her ever since," he said.
Esther Khavukwi, the deceased's sister, claims they reported their sister's disappearance to Musoli police station, where suspects were arrested and later released.
After obtaining a court order, officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) exhumed the body parts. They took them to Kakamega County General Hospital, where a postmortem will be conducted

The deceased's uncle said that When they were shown the remains of the boy, his internal organs were splattered everywhere, making us suspicious if the death was accidental. The mother said that his son was never suicidal.
