Police said they were following a lead that would connect the primary suspect and one of June Jerop's coworkers at her place of employment in their investigation into the April 6 murder of the Kenyatta University student who was supposedly on a coffee date.

The 36-year-old was corresponding with two guys the evening she vanished, according to Makadara sub-county police commander Judith Nyongesa's statement in a press conference.

When authorities investigated the murder to ascertain the killer's motive, the colleague was also detained as a person of interest in the case.

Furthermore, it was claimed that the colleague was related to the murder suspect. While refusing to clarify whether the two were related, police chose to keep quiet about the report.

The police stated that the movements and the connections of the phones revealed that they were together all the time, which led them to arrest the main suspect.

While urging the police to move their investigations along, Jerop's sister, Joyce Jepkemoi, insisted they were suspicious of the relationship between the primary suspect and some of her sister's coworkers.

On Monday, March 20, Jerop's body was discovered next to Jamhuri Primary School, along Ngong Road.

Video captured the 36-year-old visiting a pharmacy in South B and Imara Daima with the primary suspect, who was traveling in a black Mercedes.

The primary suspect was located after leaving his hometown of Bungoma County and traveling to the Industrial region.

Then, his Bungoma residence yielded his blood-spattered automobile. The vehicles' samples were used to identify whose blood was in the liquid.

The autopsy on Jerop's remains revealed that the 36-year-old passed away from extensive bleeding after being stabbed.
