A man named Lawrence Oduor Wayodi has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his older brother to death over a dispute about food. Lawrence is being held at Siayaat Sirongo-Oware village in Central Alego. The incident reportedly occurred when Wayodi demanded food from his brother, and it escalated into a violent altercation. Erick Otieno, brother, sustained injuries as a result of the attack leading to his death.

According to Assistant Chief Philip Ogola of the Kakumu-Kombewa sub-location, the deceased was preparing an evening meal when the suspect arrived with his demands.

The deceased reportedly excused himself from their late parents’ kitchen and walked down to his house, returning after a few minutes to discover that the knife he had used to cut tomatoes had gone missing.

According to the administrator, when Otieno asked for the knife, Oduor poured water on the fire and then picked a fight with him before drawing the knife and stabbing him to death.

The two orphaned brothers have been staying at their late parents’ home, according to Mr. Ogola, who claims that after committing the heinous act, Oduor came to his office to report that he had killed his brother.

The Assistant Chief stated that when he arrived at the scene, he found the deceased’s body in a pool of blood, with several knife wounds all over his chest.

He then called the police, who transported the body to the Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary while the suspect was arrested to assist with the investigation.
