A police officer from Kipipiri in Nyandarua County was found brutally slain on Thursday in what investigators say resulted from a love triangle.
Officers from Turasha Police Station discovered Corporal Joseph Kahungu, 59, lying in a pool of blood after public members alerted them to his disfigured body.
Kahungu's face and neck had many deep slashes, and his wrist had been severed from his right hand. His right foot had been severed from his leg as well.

According to preliminary police investigations, the victim was last seen leaving Turasha Police Station to buy smokes from a neighbouring shop.
During this time, he may have met his would-be murderer, John Thiong'o Kinyanjui, who has since gone into hiding.
Tabitha Wanjira Thiong'o, 40, the suspect's ex-wife, has been arrested for assisting with the investigation.
According to official police reports, A love triangle is suspected as the motive for the murder. The officer was scheduled to retire on October 24, 2023.
The deceased's body has already been transported to the morgue at JM Kariuki Hospital in Ol Kalou for storage while the inquiry into the heinous act continues.
