Locals in the Kimbimbi trading center, Mwea constituency, Kirinyaga County, were shocked after a man was killed by one of his friends while trying to stop them from fighting over Ksh 50
Cyrus Muthuri, 40, was killed during a brawl between two other friends over a Ksh50 debt, according to Mwea-east sub-county police officer James Mutua. The assailant fled the scene after killing Muthuri, while his friend, Peter Muchiri, was brought to Kimbimbi sub-county by police officers with head injuries.
Muchiri claimed he was attacked because he demanded restitution for the money he gave the suspect last week. The victim died on the spot after being hit with a wooden object.
"We are still looking for the suspect who has brought shame to our town," stated Kimbimbi boda boda operators led by chairman Irungu Mwangi.
