Mugo, the lead vocalist, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist for the Kenyan band 'Just Imagine Africa,' was well known for his controversial party hymn Bangi, in which he publicly discussed marijuana use.
The other members are Brian Joseph, Daniel Mbithi, Wambui Ng'ang'a, Arlon Mwangi, Joel Djowa, Dominic Juma, and Marlon Aduvaga.
According to the musician, marijuana helped him cope with day-to-day challenges, a message that connected with most fans, resulting in over 800,000+ views on YouTube for the song's music video.
