Yesterday, a 23-year-old lady was accused of selling narcotics on the grounds of the Thika law courts in Kiambu County.
Martha Muthoni Muhindi pleaded with the court to pardon her when she appeared before Chief Magistrate Stella Atambo. Still, she was sent to Thika Main Prison for two weeks as the court awaited a narcotics report from the government chemist.
According to the charge sheet obtained by Citizen Digital, Muthoni was arrested on September 7 whileselling defendants taken to Thika law courts from various cells and prisons 20 rolls of marijuana worth Ksh. 2000.
Following section 4(a) of the Narcotic Substances and Psychotropic Substances Control Act No. 4 of 2022, she was then accused of trafficking narcotic substances.

When the accused approached the court and begged for forgiveness, Chief Magistrate Atambo was taken aback.
"Unakuja kuuza bangi kortini, unaomba msamaha!" The suspect hung her head in shame, and she stopped.
On October 9, Muthoni will be returned to the same court for sentencing.
