Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has maintained that Kenya is the best place to live despite rising fuel costs, which have increased the cost of living.
Salasya, who has traveled throughout Africa, says that the expense of living in each country reminds him that Kenya is the best place to live.

The MP, writing from South Africa, contrasted the price of a pair of shoes he was wearing, claiming that the price in South Africa is Ksh4000 higher than in Kenya.
"Yes it's developed in South Africa but life is expensive . Kiatu kaa yangu hii in Kenya is 5000 shillings in Cape Town here is 900 Rands which is equivalent to 9000 Kenya shillings," Salasya said.
He went on to say that if the cost of petrol in Kenya is reduced, no one will desire to leave for greener pastures.
"Shida ya Kenya sahizi ni mafuta tu pekee, if we can lower fuel prices in Kenya, I can guarantee you that you will never want to leave Kenya." I've been to Ghana, Morocco, Tanzania, and South Sudan, and I'm currently in South Africa. Salasya said, "Aki muache tu tupende Kenya yetu it's the best."
