Tanzanian Songstress Zuchu has been suspended from performing in Zanzibar by The Zanzibar Arts, Census, Film and Cultural Council (BASSFU) over claims of indecency during a performance.

This suspension comes after the singer's Fullmoon Kendwa Night show on February 24, 2024, which was allegedly not in line with the cultural norms of Zanzibar.

"We are officially suspending Zuchu from engaging in any artistic activities in Zanzibar for six months, starting from March 5, 2024," Abdalla said.

On February 24, Zuchu appeared on the Island during the Full Moon Kendwa and is accused of singing an immoral lyric, rebuking Diamond fans.

She said that despite their temporary breakup, Diamond Platnumz would never leave her for another woman, even if they offered him their bum-bum

"Huyu kwangu hatoki hata mmpe mku…" She sang.

It was also revealed that Zuchu had not registered with BASSFU and did not have the requisite permits to perform in Zanzibar. As a result, she has been fined Ksh. 1 million and is obliged to make a written apology and promise to follow cultural norms in future performances.
