The international news reporter Shadrack Mitty passed away, sending shockwaves through the media community. There are still little details about the specific cause of his death.

It is said that the gifted journalist passed away yesterday night while receiving treatment.

Mitty rose to prominence as one of the nation's best reporters while she was employed with KTN News.

His proficiency in reporting in both English and Kiswahili allowed him to rise to prominence at KTN News.

The late journalist studied at Nairobi's esteemed Kenya Institute of Mass Communication, located in South B.

Mitty began his career at QTV, a Nation Media Group-owned station that is no longer in operation. He later joined KTN News, a subsidiary of the Standard Group.

Mitty's former colleagues, including his boss at Standard Group, Paul Nabiswa, are among those mourning the fallen journalist. Nabiswa reminisced about their time together in high school before fate reunited them as colleagues.

Former NTV senior political reporter Kennedy Mureithi also expressed his condolences for Mitty's passing.

"I am gutted. I am lost. I have woken to the sad news on the passing on of my great friend and colleague in the journalism field Shadrack Mitty.

A fine multi- lingual journalist whom we started with at QTV before he transitioned to KTN.

I write go well brother, but this one has hit me hard.

Our phone call of 10th May is now replaying in my mind. Rest ndugu, rest, " Mureithi said in a post on his Facebook page.
