Renowned Tanzanian musician Zuhura Othman Soud, popularly known as Zuchu, has proudly revealed that she is building a mansion for her mother, iconic Taarab singer Khadija Kopa.

The Sukari hitmaker shared the exciting news on her Instagram stories, posting a video from the construction site. Although the mansion is still in its early foundation stage, Zuchu disclosed that the house will feature five bedrooms. She expressed her pride in the project, captioning the post:

"Building my mum a 5-bedroom house. I am so proud of me. Alhamdulillah 🤗."

Zuchu’s decision to build a home for her mother is a heartfelt gesture, given the immense role Khadija Kopa played in raising her. Reports indicate that Zuchu’s biological father, Othman Soud, was absent from her life and showed no interest in having a relationship with her during her childhood.

Despite her mother’s efforts to bridge the gap between father and daughter, Soud—who worked as a prison warden—remained distant. In a past TikTok video, Zuchu opened up about her father’s indifference, saying:

"The things my mom did for my dad, I would never have given him a child. My mom tried to make him be close to me, but he never showed interest. They never stopped communicating, yet he never asked about me. She would even say, ‘Zuhura is here, talk to her,’ but he just didn’t care. My mom did so much, but he simply didn’t want me."

Now, as a successful artist, Zuchu is showing her deep appreciation for her mother’s love and sacrifices by building her a dream home.
