The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has slammed former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi for making serious corruption allegations against President William Ruto without formally reporting them to the relevant authorities.
In a recent interview with NTV, Muturi accused President Ruto of being “irredeemably corrupt” and labeled him a “dangerous character” unfit to lead Kenya. He further alleged that Ruto was involved in the controversial Adani deal, claiming to have obtained insider information during COP 28 in Dubai in 2023 through discussions with the President’s aides.
“When I hear William Ruto speak about corruption, I wonder who is talking—because he is corrupt himself,” Muturi stated, although he offered no concrete evidence to support his claims.
ODM leaders, speaking at the Eid Baraza in Mombasa on Saturday, called on Muturi to present any evidence he has to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
“We should not weaponize corruption allegations for political gain,” said Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir. “If Muturi has credible evidence, he should forward it to the appropriate bodies for investigation.”
