Last night, the state hosted Eric Omondi after being detained for staging a protest outside parliament. Eric landed at the Nairobi Central Police Station, sharing a cell with common thieves and criminals. This is not his first time at the central police station. However, spending a night there was the first time for him.
Eric stated on Instagram that he has a place to sleep. " Although we are currently sleeping on the ground in the dark, the sun will rise tomorrow," stated Omondi.
Eric led the demonstration against the high cost of living. According to online footage, Eric was accompanied by burly, bare-chested guys holding banners that displayed the current costs of the most expensive household utilities. The high expense of life is described as "Stima juu, unga juu, taxi juu, and mafuta juu."
Nonetheless, his detention and misbehavior in the legislature have divided Kenyans' opinions. While some people perceive it as an heroic endeavor, others who don't take him seriously consider it another of Eric's infamous clout chase.
