On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, media celebrity Larry Madowo revealed that he escaped a gun attack while dining at a restaurant in Florida, United States of America (USA).
In a tweet, the CNN correspondent, who previously worked as a television presenter for NTV, said he could have ended up as part of the US gun violence statistics.
"We were at a restaurant on Florida's Hollywood Oceanfront Broadwalk when a shooting occurred down the street." I snapped this photo while we were dining. He tweeted that we could have easily been included in the US gun violence statistics if we hadn't been so hungry and won first place," he tweeted.
He said that he was there when the shots were fired and that they had no idea what was happening until they observed people fleeing the beach.

According to CNN, one youngster was killed in the incident, and six of the nine persons shot are still in stable condition at the hospital. The other three individuals were treated and released.
"According to a police update, four of the nine victims are minors between the ages of one and seventeen, and five are adults between the ages of 25 and 65," CNN stated.
According to international media, police in Hollywood have also arrested several people after the fatal occurrence.
Two males alleged of involvement were detained on firearms charges, according to Hollywood Police Department spokeswoman Deanna Bettineschi, at a news conference on Tuesday, May 30 2023.
Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying three more individuals they suspect were involved in the shooting.
Police claimed they found five firearms, two of which had been stolen.
On busy holiday weekends, the Hollywood Police Department has dozens of officers assigned to the beach, allowing for a fast response, according to Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy.
"That's why we could apprehend two people in such a short period." The cops arrived within seconds or minutes."
